Hi everyone! Remember me talking about Influenster? Well, here's my first unboxing video for the Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012. If you didn't catch my blog post about Influenster you can scroll down more and look for the post, otherwise watch the video and I'll briefly explain it. Hope you enjoy!
Below are pictures of the products and my first impression of them:
Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream
First impression: I've heard of this brand before and heard great things about it. I can't wait to try it! Hopefully it will improve how my hair behaves when I curl my hair since it usually falls flat.
Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin
First impression: I'm not a huge fan of pins and I also don't do much with my hair either. But, I'm willing to make an exception to try this out and review it.
Bath & Body Works Mini Candle in Mahogan Teakwood
First impression: To me, this smells just like A&F colgne! I love it and can't wait to light it up. This would be so much cheaper than buying the cologne...especially for my BF. Next to the candle is a coupon that you can use to save $10 on a 3-wick candle.
Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit
First impression: They look nice and seem like they'll function well. I DO need a new pair of lashes anyway.
EBOOST Dietary Supplement
First Impression: I do love energy drinks so I guess I'll probably love this too. Plus, a college student like me needs all the energy she can get!
NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Custom Compact in Dark Shadows
First impression: Aw, it's cracked! Damn it! As you can see in the picture, the packaging isn't covered with glitter...it's covered with eyeshadow fall out! Despite that an eyeshadow in here is cracked, I can still work with it...and I love how this has a primer and illuminator.
Vitabath Fragrance Mist in Luscious Lemon Creme
First impression: What am I supposed to do with it? I'm guessing I just spray this on when bathing to smell good? I'm not fond of lemon scents, but at least I'll smell clean :)
BTW, this was the bonus item given to select members. The other bonus item was Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin.
That's it! Remember to subscribe to my YouTube channel cpickl3 and go check out Influenster to find out how you could receive a VoxBox. Also, note that I will be doing a separate review on the products mentioned here once I officially try them out.
Do you think that you're influential? Are your reviews helpful to other people?
Or, do you just generally LOVE doing reviews? I know I do!!!!
I recently started being more active on a website called Influenster and it's where you can review everyday products whether it be clothes, makeup, you name it! The more active you are on the site the more likely that you're going to be picked to receive a VoxBox. What is a VoxBox? To me, it's almost like getting a Birchbox, or monthly subscription box full of goodies...except this is WAY better. Of course, not just anyone gets it. You have to be dedicated and ACTIVE on the site to be able to receive one. Once you do, there are tasks that you may perform to increase your score.
For example, you can take surveys on the website, submit a fashion blog, a beauty video, and lots more! Also, the more active or influential you are on social media sites...the better! Say, you have a Twitter account and you're constantly tweeting...you can unlock the Twitter Badge--this is just an example, it's not the real name of the badge. That gives you a better chance on receiving a VoxBox.
Now, what else do you do with the VoxBox? Try out the products given in the box and review them. Write reviews about them on the site, your blog, or even post up a YouTube video. This is a fun-tastic site to do something that you love. It's not just about receiving a VoxBox. For me, YouTube and Blogger aren't the only two places that I can share my love of fashion and makeup :)
Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well! My week has been an okay one but it just got better! Yesterday, I received my first order from Love Culture. Yay! And, i'm super excited because I'm going to be filming a Love Culture haul soon and kind of an update video as to why I quit YouTube and my future plans for my new YouTube channel! BTW, if you aren't already subscribe to my YouTube channel! It's cpickl3 and yes, I have no videos, but that will soon change! :) See y'all another day <3
Here is the summary directly from Fandango.com since I'm horrible at summaries,
"Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) and her daughter Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared - leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah's wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan - and the closer they get, the deeper they're all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined"
I don't know about you, but I absolutely love horror movies. Before I saw this, I thought that it was going to be a horror movie, but later found out it was suspense/thriller. This totally disappointed me! I viewed the trailer on the Fandango app and thought it was horror and it was going to be a ghost that was haunting the house and that the main character was seeing a ghost girl, but...no! This movie is about a girl named Elissa, who is 17-years-old, and she becomes close to the brother, Ryan, of the girl who killed her parents. Everyone else in the town thinks Ryan is weird and they don't associate with him because he lives in his parents house by himself...even though his parents are dead. Anyway, as the story progresses we find out that Ryan's sister supposedly killed his parents since she was a little demented from a fall off of a swing when they were little. But...you find out in the end that it actually wasn't like that. SPOILER ALERT!!!! It turns out that Ryan's parents forced him to be the daughter because it was Ryan's fault that made the daughter die. They were on the swings outside when they were little and Ryan's sister went too high and fell off the swing and died. Thus, he was then the "replacement" daughter. He hated how his parents treated him; they were punishing him for what he did. He became tired of it and that's why he killed his parents. So, near the end we find out that Ryan can't live without his sister so he brings in girls and locks them up in his basement and pretends that they're his sister. When Elissa came along he wanted her to be his new sister and thus ties her up...and you can tell what happens...the usual part where she gets out and tries to get away.
Ok, so that was really just me summarizing the whole entire movie! I thought it was pretty good and it was--to me--unexpected that Ryan would bring in girls to be his sister. I totally thought that the girl who he originally had in the basement was his sister all along. I think the movie could have been better. I wasn't too intrigued just because there wasn't that many jumpy parts. The movie takes place for about maybe 5 days, more or less, which is alright. The movie didn't move too fast...but then again, it could have been better. What are your thoughts?
I guess you can kind of call this a "haul," but more like an early haul. If you haven't heard of Love Culture it's a site that sells clothing, accessories, shoes, etc. and the style is similar to Forever21. The prices are also very similar and cheap. I don't know about the quality yet, but I will update you guys on that when I get my package. I think I first heard of this site from DulceCandy and was reminded of this site again from my cousin, Pader. Pader was browsing the site while sitting next to me while we were in the computer lab in school and I saw such cute stuff on the site! So, that's what lead me to my order today. The clothes are so cute and very trendy. There are collared shirts with embellishments on them as well as spiked shoulders and studded heels, YOU NAME IT! I love this site and it is now my all time favorite site to shop on! I think the only flaw to this site is that there isn't as much stuff as Forever21, but that can also be a good thing since it won't take me forever to browse the site and my wallet will also love me :)
Below are some pictures directly from the site of some items I purchased
*NOTE* The names of the items are linked to the Love Culture site so just click them
There are more amazing deals on the site but you just have to go to the site and see for yourself! They have BUY ONE GET ONE FREE deals as well as sale items and many more!
Hi everyone! I know I've been MIA once again...and if you didn't know already, yes I deleted my old YouTube account (artistgurl). This is my chance to kind of redeem myself I guess. I'm going to list some of the social media sites/links that I'm actively involved in since I'm not very active here on blogger. I'm trying my best to squeeze in a few blogs and posts. Bare with me! :) Talk to you again
Instagram: artistgurl
Twitter: CornPickl3
YouTube (my new one): cpickl3
For my new YouTube account, I haven't uploaded any videos yet. It'll be awhile since I am still in school and sadly falling behind schedule with homework. But, feel free to subscribe. I'm always up for doing giveaways :)
Wow it has been super long since I've come on here!
If you haven't noticed I did QUIT YouTube...don't ask why!
It's a long and stupid story! :)
Anyway, since I don't really want to do monthly favorites videos anymore I'm just going to post a blog about them! I'm sure my favorites are some of yours too! First, let's start with makeup--of course!
Although this mascara from Lancome is so expensive ($26), it is so worth it! I've tried so many mascaras before and none work for me like this one...especially if you have thin, Asian lashes! Honestly, I only own the travel size, but I'm definitely planning on buying the full size one! LOVE IT!
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush & Bronzer in Dollface & Park Ave Princess
This is SOLD OUT right now on tartecosmetics.com, but I'm sure you can still grab this on sephora.com where I happened to pick this duo up! I love the blush! It's the perfect dolly pink blush! Nicely pigmented but not as pigmented as other blushes. As for the bronzer...it's great too but like I said not as pigmented. Overall, this duo is perfect for traveling and isn't priced bad either.
These are my all-time favorite makeup wipes! They don't sting my eyes and are just amazing...gentle too! MUST BUY!
Cynthia Crowley - Your Best Friend (YBF) Automatic Eyebrow Pencil Duo
($20 on HSN.com)
I love this eyebrow pencil! If you get it from birchbox.com it's $12 for one, but getting the duo on HSN.com is the better deal! This is one of my all-time faves. It's quite creamy and glides on perfectly. The spoolie at the end is alright but otherwise the product itself is AMAZING.
Nuance Salma Hayek Brow Pencil in Brown 090 - $9.99
This is currently SOLD OUT on CVS.com and in stores...at least at my local CVS.
This is probably the closest substitute or dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It works great!
If you've tried the Anastasia one then for sure you'll love this one! It IS half the price :)
